November is prematurity awareness month
Show your support for premature babies.
Each year, as many a 13 million babies are born too soon, worldwide.
The month of November has been dedicated to prematurity awareness and aims to spread the word on the dangers of premature birth.
With November being dubbed Prematurity Awareness Month, the Ruth Mailbag Group would like to focus the nation’s attention on this subject, birth and is asking members of the community to help to spread the word about the serious problem of premature birth.
The awareness month kicks off on November 1, with November 17 being World Prematurity Day.
Members of the community are asked to wear purple to show their support.
In conjunction with raising awareness, the Ruth Mailbag Group is collecting clothes and blankets for premature infants.
These gifts will help to provide comfort and support to families with a premature baby in the NICU.
