Three injured in Primrose Square accident
An accident at Primrose Square left three people seriously injured.
An elderly woman lost control of her vehicle in the Primrose Square parking lot on Wednesday, knocking over a number of people.
The vehicle hit three pedestrians and a motorcyclist near the Pick n Pay Primrose entrance.
“I was waiting for the driver to come out of the disabled persons parking, when the car took off at speed, hitting a beacon, the biker and the three people,” said Lee-Anne van den Heever, an eye-witness.
The vehicle was stopped by decorative stones and shopping trolleys, and was still running, even after the accident.
Emer-G-Med and other paramedics arrived soon after the accident occurred.
Three people were seriously injured and they were all taken to the Life Roseacres Clinic, in Primrose.
“The Emer-G-Med ambulance took two patients and the government ambulance took one patient,” said Emer-G-Med paramedic Jonathan van Wyk.
The motorcyclist and the elderly woman were not seriously injured and were, therefore, not taken to hospital.
The injured people were treated by advanced life support paramedics on scene before being transported to hospital.
