The Elsburg SAPS arrested a woman for shoplifting, on October 6.
The security officer in a store in Kingfisher Avenue, Elspark, was alerted when the security scanner at the door went off.
When the security guard searched the bag the woman was carrying, he found groceries for which the woman failed to produce a till slip.
The Elsburg police arrested the woman on a charge of being in possession of goods suspected to be stolen.
“The 26-year-old woman appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court on October 7 and is facing a charge of shoplifting,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.
“The case has been postponed to October 28.”
