Fight over bread rolls leads to arrest

Young man arrested by police for malicious damage to property.

The Primrose police have arrested a 19-year-old man for malicious damage to property.

The police were called to a home in Primrose on November 8, by the complainant, who wanted to open a case against his tenant.

“The complainant alleged that the accused wanted to eat his bread rolls, which he had bought for supper,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“When the complainant wouldn’t give the rolls to his tenant, the man smashed the front door of the complainant’s home with his fists, damaging the glass.”

The police responded quickly and arrested the man.

He is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court, soon on a charge of malicious damage to property.
