Truck accident leaves two injured

Two people were seriously injured in a recent truck accident.

Two people were hospitalised after an accident on November 4.

The driver of the truck in which they were travelling lost control of the vehicle and it rolled on the N17 west-bound, between the Osborn Road on-ramp and the Wits Rifles Road off-ramp, in Wadeville.

Both occupants had to be freed from the wreckage by Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) rescue teams, from the Wadeville and Germiston Central fire stations, respectively.

The driver had serious but stable injuries, while his colleague was critically injured.

Both patients were transported to Union Hospital, in Alberton, by ambulance.

The road was closed for about an hour while the truck and debris were removed.

The incident was handed over to the EMPD for further investigation.
