The Primrose SAPS recently arrested a woman on charges of fraud and the possession of suspected stolen property.
The arrest took place after the police were notified that a woman was attempting to change a bank card, using someone else’s identity document, at a bank in Rietfontein Road.
“As soon as the bank employee realised that the identity document the woman was using was not her own she called the police,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
Officers raced to the scene and the woman was arrested when she was unable to explain to who the identity document belonged.
The suspect was detained at the Primrose Police Station pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
The case has since been postponed for trial.
