The Primrose SAPS recently arrested two men, aged 22 and 23, for possession of and dealing in drugs in the Delport informal settlement.
The arrests were made during a routine police patrol of the area.
Officers noticed a busy corner shop and decided to investigate, to ensure everything was as it should be.
When they entered the shop they found two men selling small, suspicious-looking packages.
The officers searched the men and found dagga in their pockets.
They were arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their case was postponed for trial.
“We appeal to the community to refrain from selling or using dagga, as it is an illegal substance.
“We have taken a firm stand against the use of drugs and we are determined to clean up our streets,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
