Man interferes with police duties

Man arrested for interfering with police duties.

A 38-year-old man was recently arrested in Shamrock Road, for interfering with police duties.

The arrest was made when officers, who had pulled over a vehicle, were in the process of arresting the driver on charges of driving under the influence.

It was then that the 38-year-old man began to interfere; he swore at the police and attempted to stop the arrest.

He and the driver were both arrested.

The man appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where he was released on a warning.

“People should never interfere with the police, especially when they are busy with their duties,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
