St Catherine’s School welcomes it’s “pinkies”

Welcoming the new Grade Eights to St Catherine's School.

The new Grade Eight pupils at St Catherine’s School happily underwent a 10-day orientation programme.

The new “pinkies”, as they are known (because they are “the smallest finger on the hand”, just as they are the lowest grade in the high school), started their first day by getting name tags and having a quick tour of the school.

Last Friday, they did a two hour scavenger hunt, which involved collecting stamps from the various teachers in exchange for a forfeit.

This helped them to learn the teacher’s names and their school environment.

The new batch of Grade Eights will be presented with their blazers and be officially welcomed to the school to round off their 10-day orientation.
