The Elsburg SAPS recently arrested a man for an alleged rape that took place in Buhle Park Phase Four.
The arrest was made after the victim and her friend reported the rape to officers at the Elsburg Police Station.
The woman explained that she had been out with friends when the rape took place.
She admitted that she had been drinking and had experienced a blackout.
When she awakened the next morning she knew that something had happened as her underwear was missing.
She immediately asked her friends what had happened the night before and was told that a man had taken advantage of her state and had even dragged her away from her friends at one point.
The friend verified the victim’s account of events.
Officers were able to track down the man and he was arrested.
Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, who was on cluster stand-by duty at the time of the arrest, said: “As police we strongly condemn the abuse of alcohol, as we believe it makes one vulnerable to crime.”
The man will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
