The Primrose police arrested a man, aged 28, for armed robbery, on Pretoria Road.
This took place after the victim visited the police station and alleged that he was driving a taxi on Pretoria Road, when two men motioned for him to pull over.
One of the men was armed with a firearm and the two demanded his cellphone.
The man with the firearm fired a shot and the victim quickly handed over his cellphone and they ran away.
“Our dedicated detectives followed all the leads and one suspect was arrested and brought to the Primrose Police Station, where he was detained,” said the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS, Const Styles Maome.
The suspect will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
