The Elsburg police recently arrested five people for theft, at a warehouse in Guthrie Road, Wadeville.
“While doing cluster stand-by duties I visited the Elsburg SAPS and found that they had arrested five suspects, aged between 29 and 42 years, for theft at a company,” said the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS, Const Styles Maome.
The complainant alleged that when he reported for duty he proceeded to the security office to collect the warehouse keys, and noticed that the warehouse door was half open.
He asked the security officer what had happened and was informed that the security officer had left everything in order and that all the doors were locked.
The complainant became suspicious and checked inside, where he noticed that 32 pallets of soft drinks were missing, and called the police.
“The dedicated detectives followed all the leads and the suspects were arrested,” said Maome.
They will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
