The metro has appointed new meter reading contractors for Ekurhuleni.
In Germiston, Ralai’s Investments CC and Baatshuma Electrical (Pty) Ltd have been appointed.
These contractors will to undertake the reading function from March 3, 2014, until June 30, 2016.
The municipality appeals to residents to cooperate with the company representatives by granting them access to their properties, to avoid interim charges.
For security reasons, residents are advised to always request identification before allowing the workers onto their property.
As a form of identification, they will be carrying identity cards bearing the Ekurhuleni logo and the cards will also have telephone numbers that can be contacted for confirmation.
They will also be wearing the contractors’ branded T-shirts.
Their operating hours will be from 8am to 5pm on weekdays and, possibly, on weekends if needs be.
Where necessary, the meter readers will be required to do after hours readings, as per arrangement with the client.
