A Makause informal settlement resident was recently arrested by Primrose police, following an assault.
The assault was reported to police by the victim.
She claimed that her boyfriend had come to see her and demanded grant money from her.
Once the woman had handed over the money the accused began to beat her with an empty wine bottle.
“This kind of behaviour is condemned by the Primrose police, violence is never the answer to any relationship dispute,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
Officers arrested the man and took him to the Primrose Police Station.
