Don’t dump your animals, rather take them into the SPCA
Treat your animals with respect.
Manager of the SPCA Laurence Kingston, discovered a box containing a mother cat and her three newborn kittens, last Monday.
The box had been dumped outside the SPCA’s offices.
Upon further investigation, three male cats were found running around the flowerbeds outside the offices.
The cats were all scared and traumatised and had also been dumped.
Staff quickly caught the cats and took them into their care.

“There is always the danger that the animals will run into the heavy traffic on Driehoek Road and be injured or killed,” Kingston said.
“Do not dump animals outside our offices, rather bring them in and surrender them to us, so that they receive the proper care.
“If it is after hours the community is urged to call our after-hours number on 082 675 0072.”
The Germiston SPCA’s office hours are: 8am to 4.30pm (Monday to Friday), and 8am to noon on a Saturday.
“We owe animals at least the decency of being dropped off in a safe manner instead of being dumped on the street,” Kingston said.
“Many of the abandoned, stray or surrendered animals the SPCA takes care of manage to find good, loving homes at the end of the day.”
