Local church helps the less fortunate
Community services project launched in Makause to help the poor.
Members of the Rose Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Primrose, recently launched a community services project in the Makause informal settlement.
The church will initially be running the project in the settlement every second Sunday, from 9am, until all their supplies have been distributed.

“The project is modelled on moral regeneration — that is we share the ‘Bread of Life’, bible lessons, clothing and food,” said Francis Mthembu, communications secretary for the church.
“This is open to everyone in need of help and does not look at religious affiliation, ethnicity or gender.”
On the first day of the project they assisted a total of 76 people — 58 adults and 18 children.
For more information, visit the church at the corner of Rietfontein Road and Ash Street, on a Saturday, or call Mthembu on 078 973 0270.
