Manhole finally closed

Dangerous manhole in Sunnyridge finally closed.

James Towell recently came into the GCN offices to report an open manhole.

He explained that the manhole can be found on the pavement of Northridge Avenue, in Sunnyridge.

“The manhole is approximately 3m deep and has fast running water at the bottom of it,” Towell said.

The manhole is reported to have been open for about three months now.

“I have been trying for about three months to have this manhole closed,” Towell said.

“I take it on myself to check that no person or animal has fallen into this clearly dangerous manhole each day.”

The GCN reported this serious matter to the metro.

On Monday morning, July 21, Towell came into the GCN offices again.

This time it was to inform us that the manhole has been closed since his last visit.

“Thank you, I have been trying for months and now it is finally closed,” he said.
