Argument about soccer leads to murder

Man stabbed with sharp object during argument later dies.

On Sunday, August 17, the Primrose police arrested a 32-year-old man for the murder of his friend.

It is reported that the two men were watching a soccer match together when they began to argue.

“It is believed the two men started arguing over the score,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The deceased is said have claimed he was the smarter of the two, as he had started school first.”

The accused became angry and stabbed the deceased with a sharp object in the upper body.

“The man was rushed to hospital, but later died due to his injuries,” added Maome.

Officers were able to trace the accused and he was arrested.

He later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.

The suspect will remain in custody till his next court appearance.
