A 27-year-old man was recently arrested in the Makause informal settlement.
The arrest took place after a formal complaint was laid against him at the Primrose Police Station.
The complainant told officers that he was walking in Makause informal settlement when he was approached by the accused.
The man asked the accused who he was.
“The victim claimed that, without provocation, the accused then took a sharp object from his pocket and began to stab him,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“The victim sustained several stab wounds to his upper body.”
Officers were able to trace the accused and he was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
