Members of the Germiston police task team mounted roving roadblocks in and around the city, to combat crime, last Sunday.
At about 4.20pm they set up a roadblock on the M2 highway, at the Geldenhuys interchange.
The members stopped a minibus and ordered the passengers to get out of the vehicle and searched them and the bus.
One woman stayed inside the vehicle and when officers searched some bags, which she admitted belonged to her, they found seven rolls of dagga covered with brown paper.
The 28-year-old woman was arrested by Const Thembelane Msweli, for possession and dealing in dagga, and was detained at the Germiston Police Station.

“The rolls of dagga weighed 15.57kg and were booked in at the Germiston Police Station as evidence,” said WO AndrĂ© de Jager, spokesman for the Germiston SAPS.
On the same night, Sgt Johannes Mahlaba arrested a 48-year-old man for possession of and dealing in dagga at a stop-and-search operation, at the N3 Geldenhuys interchange.
“The man also had several bags with him and when he was searched the police officer found 5.11kg of small bags, packed and ready to be sold,”de Jager said.
“The suspect was arrested and detained at the Germiston Police Station.”
