Resident wants to know who is responsible for collecting the bodies of animals killed on the road
Whose job is it?
Many animals lose their lives on the metro’s busy roads each week.
Many of these incidents happen so fast that motorists are unable to avoid the collision.
Whose responsibility is it to remove the bodies of the animals killed in these incidents?
This was the question posed to the Germiston City News by a concerned Wadeville resident.
The GCN approached the metro to get clarity on the situation.
Lebogang Ramashala, a senior media officer at the metro’s department of communication and brand management, said: “It is the responsibility of the Ekurhuleni Waste Management Services Department to make sure that the animals’ bodies are collected.
“The community can contact either Francis Mphafane or Mduduzi Nhlabathi, on 011 999-1267/8015, to report these types of incidents.”
