Murder suspect nabbed in Katlehong

'Hit-man' arrested.

A suspect, who has been on the run for almost two months, was identified on October 26, by EMPD Public Order Policing Unit members, in Katlehong.

The suspect was being sought in connection with murder cases frequently occurring in and around Katlehong hostels, since January, this year.

The 30-year-old man was among the audience in a meeting held at the Buyafuthi hostel, called by concerned Indunas from Kwazulu-Natal, who were addressing the senseless killing issue.

“The suspect tried to flee when he noticed our hawk-eyed officers, who were monitoring the event,” said EMPD spokesman, Insp Kobeli Mokheseng.

“He was cornered and taken to the Katlehong South Police Station, after he was identified by a hostel resident as a hit-man.”

Members of the SAPS, in the charge office, at the Katlehong South Police Station, confirmed that the suspect is on the wanted list for murder.

“He was handed over to the SAPS’s Detective Unit working on cases to which he is linked,” explained Mokheseng.
