Resident desperate for answers regarding power problems
Trees are causing havoc with the power supply in Dawnview.
On Friday, October 24, W J Davies visited the GCN’s offices, desperately looking for answers.
He explained that the power had been out in Association Road, in Dawnview, from 5.25pm the previous day.
Despite numerous calls to the metro they still had no answers as to what had caused the outage or when power would be restored.
The GCN approached the metro for answers.
Themba Gadebe, of the metro’s department of communication and brand management, was able to shed some light on the situation.
“There are trees tampering with the power cables in the area, causing fuses to blow,” he explained.
“Technicians have replaced them, only to have them pop again.
“A request has been sent to the metro’s parks department to urgently assist with the problem.”
