The metro assures businesses and residents in Germiston that technicians are currently on site working around the clock to restore power to Georgetown in the Germiston CBD.
The power outage is due to a cable fault that feeds electricity from the Georgetown substation to the Germiston CBD and surrounding areas.
Technicians started locating the faulty cable from yesterday, Sunday, December 7, from 6pm and have been working tirelessly from 6am this morning to restore power to the affected area.
Power is expected to be restored this afternoon by 3pm.
