When will road be reopened?

What has the metro done to repair Rossouw Street in the last six months?

Following a number of calls from people in the Wadeville area the Germiston City News travelled to Rossouw Street to find out what had them so upset.

Our journalist discovered the road is blocked off by two large mounds of sand, as well as a tree trunk and a number of other items.

On closer inspection the GCN discovered that one side on the road has completely fallen away, leaving power cables exposed.

No warning signs have been put in place to divert traffic, instead a municipal bin and rocks let motorists know something isn’t right.

“The road has been like this for at least six months,” said Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry Forum CEO, Chris van Biljon.

Van Biljon explained that traffic is currently being diverted to Dekema Road.

The GCN approached the metro to find out if they are aware of this matter?

When the road will be repaired and reopened?

And finally what safety measures have been put in place to avoid an accident on this road?

At the time of going to press the GCN had received no comment from the metro.
