Creating awareness in the community

Calling all residents to say no to crime.

Community members are making sure that people are aware of crime in their area.

On two occasions, over the past two weeks, an awareness drive involving the Primrose SAPS, the Sector Two voluntary patrollers, the Marlands Community patrollers, PRAC patrollers, Top Security and Circinus Security took to the streets of Primrose.

A total of 46 vehicles were involved in the patrols, to create awareness in the community and to start taking the streets back from the criminals.

“The residents of Primrose are tired of crime, and the CPF is creating awareness and encouraging the community to stand together,” said Wendy Morgan, chairman of the Primrose CPF.

If you are not on a Whatsapp group, which shares lookouts and information regarding crime, send Morgan a Whatsapp to join one on 072 963 9675.

To join the voluntary patrollers, who are patrolling the various sectors every night, call Morgan on the above number.

On May 30, Primrose Sector Two will be hosting a “Fun and Awareness Day” to raise funds for the Crime Forum.

The funds will go towards the repeater costs for the two-way radios.

There will be entertainment, food stalls and games for the children.

To book a flea market stall contact Morgan or Ronel Ludick on 072 376 7787.
