Update: Trial due to start soon
Alleged murderer’s trial set for August. He is accused of killing the two young boys found in a BMW in Germiston.
The 29-year-old man who was arrested for the murder of the two boys, found in a BMW in Germiston, and the murder of a 42-year-old man, in Naturena, appeared in court for the second time.
He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on July 20.
The bodies of the two young boys, Bonolo Africa (11) and Thato Africa (2), were discovered at 6pm on Wednesday, July 8, in a white BMW 316i, by members of the Germiston SAPS.
The man was arrested on July 9, in Naturena, after the body of 42-year-old Vincent Africa was discovered in his home in the suburb.
Mondeor SAPS communications officer Const Elizabeth Munguni said: “The case was postponed and the trial has been set to start on August 17.
“He will be facing three charges of murder.”
The police are still awaiting the results of an autopsy report to establish the causes of the deaths of the two boys.
