Eskom has been able to supply the country’s electricity needs and do maintenance without implementing load shedding for the past 26 days.
“Our maintenance plan is aimed at increasing the reliability of our plants, and this will in turn increase our operating reserves and stabilise the grid,” the company said in a statement this morning.
No load shedding is anticipated today, even with the sudden drop in temperature.
“However, the system remains vulnerable, meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to implement load shedding at short notice,” the company said.
Eskom will continue to provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
