In the last week of September (September 21 to 27), the Primrose police arrested 39 suspects.
The suspects were arrested for the following:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 7
- Driving under the influence of alcohol: 8
- Common assault: 1
- Possession of drugs: 9
- Possession of housebreaking implements: 2
- Possession of counterfeit cigarettes: 1
- Robbery: 1
- Warrant of arrest: 2
- Theft: 1
- Illegal immigrants: 7
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela, for deportation.
