Patrollers give back to the community
Patrollers thankful for the community’s donations.
The exco members of the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF thank all the members of the CPF and the community for all the support given to keep the forum afloat.
The patrollers are thankful for the recognition that they have received from the community by means of the donations given and pledged, enabling them to buy various items to perform their tasks more efficiently and effectively.
They are also now dressed in visible and recognisable attire.
“As more and more members become patrollers, to ensure a more visible and stronger team, more equipment is needed and your donations will always be welcome,” said Pine Pienaar, the vice-chairman of Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF.
“How the patrollers give back is not always mentioned as, apart from patrolling our area at all hours of the day and night, they also perform duties such as cutting up and removing fallen trees blocking roads and fences within our area.
“This helps to restore security as criminals often hide under the fallen trees or the trees interfere with electric fences.
“The patrollers also attend motor vehicle and other accidents, turning these sometimes unsafe areas into safe zones for the emergency personnel to do their jobs without fear.”
Recently one of the CPF’s dedicated patrollers, Gordon van Niekerk, donated a jungle gym to Epworth Children’s Village in Lambton.
“A very kind gesture indeed and a big thank you goes to this patroller and his family, as well as Paul van der Merwe for helping to restore the jungle gym and deliver it to the home,” Pienaar said.
“The patrollers were on hand helping with the delivery and setting up of the jungle gym, and surely this will bring lots of smiles and endless enjoyment to the children.
“Well done and thank you to all involved.”
Pienaar also urged the Lambton Klip community to join the CPF and to become part of this special group of people caring for the safety of others.
“Not just patrollers are needed, but also people with marketing skills, event organisers for fund-raising and others,” he said.
