R29 000 welding machine stolen

CCTV footage helps police identify criminals.

After locking up his Cornflower Street business recently, the owner left for the day.

A few hours later he received a call from a friend asking him why his workshop was open.

“The complainant went back to check his workshop and discovered that a welding machine worth R29 000 had been stolen,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“CCTV footage showed two men loading the machine onto the back of a vehicle and driving off.”

After following several leads Primrose police recently arrested 21-year-old man for the crime.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court for business robbery.

His case was postponed for plea and trial.
