Company plagued by sewage leak once again
A local company was left in a panic as raw sewage floods their property.
Two years after a local Wadeville company’s sewage problems were resolved they once again flooded with raw sewage.
The company contacted the Germiston City News in a state of panic and frustration as they once again battled to get answers as sewage continuously leaked into their property.
The leak begun on November 2 and despite numerous calls to the metro nothing has been done.
“Technicians from the metro came to the property where they saw the problem and then left without doing or saying anything,” said a representative of the company.
The GCN sent an urgent query to the metro to find out what had caused the problem to return and when the metro would attend to the problem.
The GCN also questioned why the technicians had done nothing at the site.
Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro responded to the query stating that the problem had been attended to on November 16.
“The problem was caused by a brick which was obstructing the line and caused the leak,” he said.
No comment was given on why it took so long for the metro to attend to the problem.
