Man attempts to steal child’s tablet

Katlehong man nabbed for robbery after allegedly stealing child’s tablet.

While on routine patrol at Sontonga Mall, in the Khumalo Section of Katlehong, police officers heard a child screaming.

They rushed to a local cellphone shop, where the screaming came from, and the child’s father told the officers a man had stolen his son’s tablet computer.

The son described the man and the officers chased after the suspect.

They caught the 23-year-old suspect meters away from the mall exit, he was arrested and the stolen tablet recovered.

The suspect was charged with robbery and taken to the Katlehong Police Station.

The suspect was due to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
