Residents want dangerous hole filled in

Residents of Beacon House want the metro to finish the repairs they started on the pavement outside the flats.

Pedestrians have to watch their step when walking on the pavement in Beaconsfield Avenue, in Primrose.

This is because there is a huge hole surrounding the manhole found in front of Beacon House.

Residents told the GCN that the hole began to form more than three weeks ago as the result of a water leak.

Though the metro repaired the leak the hole and rubble was left behind.

“We were told that another team would have to come and fill in the hole,” said one resident.

Another concern for the residents is that when it rains sewage is able to escape from the hole and leak onto the pavement.

The GCN sent a query to the metro to find out why the repairs had not been finished and when they would be completed.

At the time of going to press no comment had been received from the metro.
