The principal of Dawnview High School, Moeketsie Kolokoto, is satisfied with his school’s results in the 2016 matric examinations.
The school attained an 89 per cent pass rate.
“Overall I am happy as there has been an improvement compared to 2015,” he said.
The school had 123 matric pupils who between them attained 15 distinctions.
The results included 29 bachelor’s degree passes, 55 diploma passes and 24 higher certificate passes.
The top three learners were: Adaeze Ikwuemesim (with a 71 per cent pass rate); Neo Mphahlele (with a distinction in life orientation) and Nonjabulo Mkhonza (with a distinction in life orientation).
“I attribute the results to the hard work displayed by the teachers as it was not easy for them.
“I am also extremely pleased that all our student leaders passed their exams with bachelor’s passes,” Kolokoto said.
He added that in 2017 they were going to work hard and improve the results.
“To do this, however, we need the full cooperation of the learners,” he said.
Dawnview High School matric learner Samantha Hatton-Jones was pleased with her matric results. She is going to start work in order to pay for her counselling studies at college.
Nkjabuno Maseko, Noxolo Nkabinde and Lerato Mokhuthu from Dawnview High School were pleased with how they did in their matric exams.
