A 20-year-old man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint when leaving his Katlehong home, recently.
“The victim told officers from the Katlehong Police Station that he was leaving his house when he was approached by two unknown men.
“The men allegedly pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to lie on the ground. They searched him and took a bag of money he had in his possession, before escaping on foot,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.
The victim told police that he saw the two men climb into a white Volkswagen Golf.
“He was able to give officers the registration details of the vehicle,” said Ndobe.
Officers traced the vehicle and arrested a 36-year-old man for the crime.
“He was charged with armed robbery and will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon,” Ndobe said.
Police are still searching for the second man allegedly involved in the incident.
