The Elsburg SAPS were recently summoned to the scene of a crime at 10.30pm where the body of a man was found lying in the middle of the road at the intersection of Brug and Voortrekker streets. The man had sustained injuries to the back of his head. Upon arrival the officers found two paramedics on the scene busy trying to resuscitate the victim.
2. Attempted smash-and-grab in Germiston: https://bit.ly/2kaFXBR

A 40-year-old male was arrested for an attempted smash-and-grab in Germiston recently. Germiston SAPS members were patrolling in the area when they noticed two men attempting to smash-and-grab a motorist at the intersection of Junction and Johann Rissik roads.
3. South African Weather Service warns of heavy rains in parts of Gauteng: https://bit.ly/2jTlx00.

As clouds began to gather over Germiston last Monday, the South African Weather Service asked residents to be prepared for heavy rain. In addition to their warning of heavy rains over the central and southern parts of Gauteng, the service warned of severe thunderstorms and high discomfort levels.
4. National News – Metro cop convicted for corruption: https://bit.ly/2kWainx

A former metro police officer was found guilty of corruption in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court recently. Sebo Mathabatha demanded a R100 bribe from an undercover national traffic anti-corruption unit agent during a safety operation on the notorious Moloto Road, the Pretoria North Rekord reported.

Germiston Child Welfare is appealing to the community to help them with information regarding a child, Kabelo Mokoena. The boy was found on September 27 last year at Bertha Gxowa Hospital’s security gate at about 9.40pm. Kabelo was taken to the SAPS and then referred to Germiston Child Welfare.
