Twelve suspects arrested in 24 hours

Katlehong police continue their efforts to stub out crime in the area.

Twelve suspects were arrested in Katlehong, last Thursday, in the police’s continued efforts to curb crime in the area.

The arrests were made during a stop-and-search operation held by members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit with help from detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were arrested on several charges.

Charges included:

  • Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1
  • Common assault: 2
  • Theft: 6
  • Possession of dagga: 2
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1.

All of the accused appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
