Entries for Mrs Commonwealth 2018 now open
Entries for the fourth annual Mrs Commonwealth South Africa are now open.
Running for its fourth year, Mrs Commonwealth South Africa seeks to crown a new titleholder.
The pageant is open to married women between the ages of 25 and 55 years old.
Through the pageant Commonwealth Pageants South Africa (Pty) (which owns the Mrs Commonwealth Pageant), aims to bring wealth to the community and prepare an exciting journey for the contestants during their time as finalists.
“The Mrs Commonwealth South Africa Pageant aims to empower women of all ages with a platform to bring sustainable change which focuses primarily on social upliftment and to create a platform for our titleholders to achieve their own goals,” said Alison Jacobs, pageant co-ordinator.
The breast cancer initiative PinkDrive is the official non-profit organisation (NPO) of the pageant.
In 2017 the contestants raised R320 000 for PinkDrive.
“What makes the Mrs Commonwealth SA Pageant stand out is the focus on bringing wealth to the community and how the finalists play an active role in the community,” Jacobs said.
Past winners competed at Mrs Universal, International Ms and Mrs Classic Universe and the 2018 winner will be afforded the same opportunities in 2019.
Introductory workshops will be taking place countrywide during the month of February.
Entries close on March 5 and the pageant’s grand finale will take place at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino.
