Germiston SAPS cracks down on crime in the area

Germiston police share their arrest statistics.

According to the latest arrest statistics released by the Germiston Police Station, 103 suspects were arrested between April 16 and 22.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included:

Possession of dagga: 10

Driving under the influence of alcohol: 24

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 6

Interfering with police duties: 1

Theft: 13

Shoplifting: 9

Theft out of a motor vehicle: 2

Business break-in: 2

Rape: 2

Dealing in liquor without a licence: 3

Attempted murder: 4

Armed robbery: 3

Common assault: 10

Fraud: 2

Pointing a firearm: 1

Possession of a dangerous weapon: 2

Possession of suspected stolen property: 2

House break-in and theft: 3

Murder: 1

Possession of live ammunition: 1

Bribery: 1

Driving without a licence: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
