Kidnapping victim leads SAPS to perpetrator

Man spots his kidnapper in town and leads SAPS to his whereabouts.

The Germiston SAPS Task Team gained a useful tip-off from a complainant whilst patrolling in the Germiston CBD, last Wednesday, leading to the arrest of a wanted suspect.

“The complainant informed the task team that he had seen a perpetrator he had previously laid charges of pointing a firearm and kidnapping against, on President Street,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.

Together with the complainant, the task team made their way to President Street where a 34-year-old man was apprehended and detained at the Germiston Police Station.

“The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court last Thursday on charges of pointing a firearm and kidnapping and he was denied bail.
