Help Rest-A-While compile food hampers for the elderly

Rest-A-While calls on community members to help them gather food parcels for the needy elderly.

Rest-A-While Service Centre for the Aged has launched their Winter Food Drive campaign and they are urging community members to help them collect food and other items to make parcels for those in need.

“Please help us collect blankets, non-perishable groceries, tinned food, coffee, tea, powdered milk and toiletries for both men and women so we can make winter hampers for our needy elderly.

“Let’s all open our hearts and share the gift of giving,” said the centre’s manager Trudy Carreira.

Donations can be dropped off at Rest-A-While’s offices on corner Churchill Avenue and Shamrock Road, and arrangements can be made for collection of donations that cannot be dropped off.

For more information call Trudy or Michelle Bezuidenhout on 011 828 3059.
