Germiston SAPS crack down on crime in their precinct

Germiston police share their arrest statistics.

According to the latest arrest statistics released by the Germiston Police Station, 65 suspects were arrested between July 30 and August 5.

The accused were arrested for various offences, including:

Possession of dagga: 9

Driving under the influence of alcohol: 10

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 7

Hijacking: 1

Theft: 7

Shoplifting: 3

Pointing of a firearm: 1

Contempt of court: 2

Common robbery: 1

Dealing in drugs: 1

Kidnapping: 1

Sexual assault: 2

Common assault: 9

Possession of drugs: 2

Fraud: 1

Business robbery: 1

Dealing in liquor without a licence: 1

Perjury: 1

Reckless and negligent driving: 2

Attempted murder: 2

Tresspassing: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
