Katlehong SAPS share their successes

Katlehong police arrested 19 suspects for various crimes during several weekend operations.

The Katlehong police arrested 19 suspects during a series of weekend operations.

The stop-and-search operations, held between September 7 and 9, were conducted by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were charged with a number of different offences.

Charges included:

Malicious damage to property: 4

Assault of a police officer: 1

Business robbery: 3

Possession of suspected stolen property: 2

Theft: 2

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2

Murder: 1

Contravening a court order: 1

Common assault: 1

Intimidation: 1

Possession of drugs: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Officers plan to continue to host similar operations.
