Katlehong North SAPS host successful stop-and-search operation

Three suspects were arrested by the Katlehong North police during a daily stop-and-search operation.

In an ongoing effort to curb crime in their area, the Katlehong North SAPS hosted a stop-and-search operation on Wednesday.

During the operation, three suspects were arrested for different offences.

One man was arrested for dagga possession when he was found with large plastic bags full of dagga, packed in sachets.

Finally, a man was apprehended for perjury after he allegedly opened a false case of theft of a motor vehicle which turned out to be false.

It was discovered that the vehicle, which he had rented from a car rental company, had not been stolen but rather he had given it to his friend.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander, Col Reginah Rampota, was pleased with the results of the operation.

She further appealed to the community to continue working closely with the police in fighting crime in the area.

“Report any criminal activities without any fear by contacting the SAPS,” she said.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
