A 21-year-old man was recently arrested for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The arrest was made after the victim of the alleged attack contacted the police.
“He explained to officers he had been walking in Blackwood Road in Primrose with his brother when they were approached by two men who lived close to their house,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The victim alleged that without any provocation one of the men blocked his way and punched him.

“The suspects reportedly began to kick the victim before one of the men allegedly struck the victim on the upper body with a brick,” said Maome.
“The victim needed medical attention following the attack.
“The victim’s brother, however, was able to run away without injury.”
One of the men accused of the attack was arrested, while the second is still at large.
The suspect was detained at the Primrose Police Station after his arrest.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
