Fourteen suspects were arrested in Katlehong on Wednesday, as a result of a stop-and-search operation held in the area.
The operation was conducted by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were arrested for a number of different offences.
Charges included murder, rape, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, intimidation, shoplifting and possession of drugs.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.
Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, without fear that they will be targeted by the offenders.
