Primrose Post Office, back in operation

The Primrose Post Office, situated in Shamrock Road, has been reopened, following a three-week shutdown.

Locals who receive their mail from the Primrose Post Office, situated in Shamrock Road, can once again access their mail without any hassles.

Following a number of complaints from residents citing they could not access their mail or pay their postbox annual rent, which was due on January 31, due to an operations shutdown at the post office, the GCN contacted the South African Post Office (SAPO) for comment.

“Due to a dispute about the rental agreements with the landlord of the property, the post office was closed for three weeks (January 15 to February 6),” said Johan Kruger, from the SAPO communications division.

According to Kruger, residents who missed the annual rent payment date on January 31, will be penalised.

“Postbox rent can be paid at any post office countrywide as well as online at virtualpostoffice.co.za.

“For that reason, customers who missed the deadline will be penalised,” he concluded.
