Criminals targeted in Katlehong North

Katlehong North police strive to make their precinct safe.

Katlehong North police continued with their crime prevention operations last weekend.

During the operations, held between June 7 and 9, officers arrested 15 suspects for various offences.

Charges included possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, common assault, house break-in and theft and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

During the operations, a 38-year-old man was arrested on a charge of pointing a firearm.

His licensed firearm was confiscated together with a magazine and five rounds of ammunition.

All of the suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota thanked everyone who contributed to the successful arrests.

Katlehong North SAPS plan to continue their weekend crime prevention operations to ensure that the community feel safe and secure in the area.
