Learners taught about giving

Youngsters took to the streets of Primrose and visited a home in celebration of Mandela Day.

Learners from Abundant Life Christian Academy, located in Sunnyridge, were out and about in the community on Thursday, celebrating Mandela Day.

“As a private Christian academy in our community, we decided to spend our 67 minutes and more giving back to the people of the community,” said principal of the school Natasha Broodryk.

“As the principal of the school, I want to teach the children about the reward and principles of giving.

“I firmly believe that when teaching young learners this moral, we instil a life-long yearning to want to be a community leader.

“Our message is simple.

“We are blessed, therefore, we want to bless others.”

Natasha added that she looks forward to the day when former learners from the school visit the school with their new families and share their success stories and she sees them impart the same life lessons to their families.

The school’s motto for the day was “building community leaders for a brighter tomorrow”.
